The Haps

I broke down and purchased the Kindle version of the book I wanted to read.

And I'm not ashamed either because I'm loving the book so far.  And I'm not regretting saving the $20 extra it would have cost me for the hardcover copy at Barnes & Noble.  I'm sure Chewie's pretty happy about that, too.

In other news, we finally got all of my medical bills paid off from April/May.  A small victory to most people, but a huge relief to us (me, in particular).  It wasn't a ton of money but enough bills to be slightly overwhelming (especially at first) and frustrating...

I mean, it's one thing to pay the cable bill that I choose to have in my home for tv watching.  But I don't choose to get sick or, in my case, get an awful ear infection in the middle of the night and rush to urgent care the week before I get approved for medical insurance.  Bam! - $350 urgent care bill.  Those bills are frustrating to me.

We also scored years 1 - 6 of Harry Potter on DVD at the local FYE for $40 the other night.  Granted, they're used DVDs, but they're 100% guaranteed.  So we've been making our way through them every night.  And I have to say - I really love it.  There's just nothing like snuggling with the hubs watching Harry Potter movies.  Chewie even made me sugar-free brownies last night, too.  I'm a lucky girl, for sure.  :)

This last weekend, ETBU, my beloved alma mater, celebrated it's 100th birthday.  I so wish I could have been there to celebrate, but I'm 3000 miles away.  However, I'm celebrating my own way today: wearing an ETBU shirt and sporting my handmade ETBU infinity scarf (which I'm planning to blog about soon).  Happy birthday, ETBU!

Work is work, as usual.  I've discovered, however, that I need to sleep a few extra hours on Sunday nights because of how much Sundays wear me out.  I end up paying for it big time on Mondays.  And I know what you're thinking, "Mondays are hard for everyone.  You're not special."  But, keep in mind, my typical Mondays are actually Sundays because my work week starts on Sunday, not Monday.  So my actual Monday is like everyone else's Tuesday, except that it still feels like everyone else's Monday.  Wrap your head around that.  #ministrylife

That's right, I just used a hashtag in the middle of my blog where hashtags don't even matter.  You're gonna have to get over it.  :)

Which reminds me of something Chewie said last night that's too long of a story to explain here...but that reminds me that there will be a post coming soon from the Chew-ster himself.  This is a first for him.  And I don't think he really cares, but I'm super excited about it, especially since I know what the topic is.  So be looking forward to that.

Hope you're all enjoying your week thus far!
